An Extraordinary Journey

I hope you all have had the opportunity to read the latest article in the NewsCenter: Student Saves a Life on the Way to Class. If you have not had an opportunity yet to read the article, I encourage you to do so. This article highlights, our very own VPFAS Office student assistant, Lindsey Cunningham!

Two years ago, Lindsey provided a cheek swab to the Be the Match booth on the way and it forever changed a life. Long after the cheek swab was forgotten, Lindsey received a call that she is a match for a little boy, who is battling leukemia. Lindsey bravely agreed to donate her bone marrow to a young boy she may never meet.

Lindsey has gone on an extraordinary journey, giving hope to a little boy and his family, and inspiring all of us to help others. We are proud and honored to share her story, as we have watched her courageously go through this process, shuffling priorities and rearranging her schedules, to give a 10-year old boy a second chance at life. She has made more than an impact – she has saved a life.

She is an inspiration to us all.
